Actor Joseph Milson woke up one morning with an idea for a film, a love letter to actress Sarah-Jane Potts. It was the start of a zero-budget filming adventure which took them to Lanzarote and beyond. Against all the odds, the film, Signs of Life, became a smash hit on the independent film circuit and has been streamed around the world to great acclaim. But in the making of the film, the line between art and life became very, very blurred - with unexpected and life-changing consequences for everyone. This is a documentary about our deep-seated desire to create and populate fictional worlds - to make our own work on our own terms - and to find the space and freedom to discover who we are and what we want in life.
